Fresh Consignment of Crude Oil to Reach Sri Lanka Tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Another oil tanker carrying crude oil from the Middle East is scheduled to arrive in the island tomorrow.

The Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Mayura Neththikumarage stated that the vessel is transporting 9,750 metric tonnes of crude oil.

This marks the first arrival of a crude oil shipment since last March. 

According to the Managing Director of CPC an additional fuel tanker is expected to reach Sri Lankan shores by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, an oil tanker carrying American crude oil is slated to arrive in the island towards the end of next month.

Mayura Neththikumarage noted that the vessel is currently being loaded, with the journey to Sri Lanka expected to take approximately 45 days.
