Special Festive Season Transport Services to Begin with 1,500 Buses

COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Minister of Transport Prasanna Gunasena states that special transport services will be in operation starting the day after tomorrow for the convenience of people traveling to their villages for the New Year.

The Deputy Minister said that special buses from both the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and the private sector will be deployed for this purpose.

He further stated that 1500 SLTB buses alone will be put into service.

Train operations on the Northern Railway Line are also scheduled to resume the day after tomorrow.

Additionally, the renovated Colombo Fort Central Bus Stand is set to open tomorrow.

Meanwhile, for the convenience of passengers on the Colombo-Kandy route, steps have been taken to deploy extra air-conditioned luxury buses to Kandy via the Kurunegala Expressway.
