COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), Sarath Kongahage, and former Director General Devapriya Abeysinghe have been remanded until April 17, following their production before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.
The two former officials were taken into custody earlier this morning by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The arrests were made in connection with allegations that recruitments were carried out exceeding the approved cadre of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and that those recruited were deployed for duties related to former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, resulting in a financial loss to the state.
