COLOMBO(News 1st); A foreign national who brought a consignment of “Kush” drugs worth Rs. 217.79 million into the country has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The arrest was made by officers of the Airport Police Narcotics Bureau.
He had purchased the drug consignment from Bangkok and arrived in the country via Hong Kong.
The suspect had concealed 21 kilograms and 779 grams of Kush drugs, packed in 20 parcels inside two suitcases.
The arrested individual is a 42-year-old Canadian national working as a building contractor.
The Narcotics Bureau stated that the suspect is due to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today to obtain a detention order,
