STF Drug Bust in Nittambuwa: Two Associated of Dubai Waruna Arrested with Large Haul of Ice and Heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two individuals involved in large-scale trafficking of ice (crystal methamphetamine) and heroin were arrested by the Police Special Task Force, in Meeambawatte, Nittambuwa.

Police said preliminary information has revealed that the suspects are key associates of two major organised crime and drug trafficking figures, one known as “Dubai Varuna,” currently overseas, and another identified as “Dinindu Sanjeewa,” who is currently in prison.

One of the suspects, 41, was arrested while transporting One Kilogram and 344 grams of Ice Narcotic, on a motorcycle in Nittambuwa.

The other suspect, a 26-year-old female, was also taken into custody after authorities seized 688 grams of Heroin in her possession.

Police confirmed that the suspects have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
