Sri Lanka To Open New Self-Rehab Center for Drug Addicts

COLOMBO (News 1st); A new facility aimed at helping individuals addicted to narcotics begin their journey toward recovery will be launched today (16) at the Senapura Rehabilitation Center in Polonnaruwa.

Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Shiran Amit announced that those seeking self-rehabilitation can register by contacting 076 96 277 61. 

The initiative is part of a broader effort to address the rising number of individuals seeking rehabilitation across the country.

According to the Rehabilitation Authority, nearly 600 individuals are currently undergoing treatment at three existing centers island-wide.

In response to growing demand, plans are underway to establish several new rehabilitation centers in the near future.
