Properties worth over Rs. 70 million linked to drug trafficker Naufer Jesudasan frozen

COLOMBO (News1st); The use of properties valued at over 70 million rupees, allegedly belonging to drug trafficker Naufar Jesudasan, has been temporarily suspended.

This follows an investigation conducted by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.

Several properties located in the Matale Meegastenna and Ovilikanda areas were thus temporarily suspended from use. 

Among them are a 10-perch land valued at 1.8 million rupees, and a 10-perch land featuring a three-story house valued at 41.4 million rupees.

Police stated that the suspended properties also include a 4-acre tea plantation valued at 15 million rupees, as well as a 12.5-perch land valued at 1.6 million rupees.

Investigations are currently underway regarding several other properties belonging to the suspect.

Drug trafficker Naufar Jesudasan was recently arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau and is currently held in remand custody.
