Expert Panel to Enforce Easter Sunday Commission Recommendations

COLOMBO (News 1st); Cabinet approval has been granted for the appointment of a committee comprising security experts to implement the recommendations made by commissions that investigated the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

The approval was granted in response to a proposal submitted by the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence.

The proposed committee is to function under the supervision of the Presidential Secretariat and will consist of security experts, along with representation from relevant institutions, to facilitate the implementation of the recommendations.
