COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has announced that the head office of the Lanka Coal Company (LCC) will remain sealed.
Authorities clarified that access is currently granted only for essential daily operations, which must be conducted under the full supervision of CID officers.
The main office, located in Kohuwala, was initially sealed on April 11th following a formal complaint lodged by the Secretary to the President, Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
The complaint called for a comprehensive investigation into coal imports dating back to 2009.
A 24-hour security detail, with four police officers and two CID officials, have been deployed to guard the premises as investigations are ongoing regarding coal imports from 2009.
