(BBC): US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran in a post on his Truth Social platform, urging Tehran to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz or face possible strikes on its infrastructure.

In the message, Trump referred to Tuesday as “Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” and added, “Open the Strait … or you’ll be living in Hell

The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial shipping route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes. Iran has effectively closed the waterway amid ongoing conflict that began in late February, raising global concerns over energy supplies and regional stability.

Trump’s post comes after he set a self-imposed deadline for Tehran to reopen the strait by Monday.

He has warned that if Iran does not comply, the United States may target key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, in an effort to compel action.
