Rs. 3 Billion Heroin Seizure: Fishing Vessel Owner, Son Arrested In Ambalangoda

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested the owner of the fishing vessel that was apprehended by Sri Lanka Navy in the deep seas south of Dondra, along with her son. 

The arrests were made in Ambalangoda. 

The estimated street value of the narcotics consignment taken into naval custody on March 15, is approximately at Rs. 3 billion.

A total of 123 kilograms of heroin were recovered from the vessel.

The multi-day fishing trawler, along with five suspects believed to have transported the drugs, was brought to the Dikowita Harbour yesterday by the Navy’s Offshore Patrol Squadron.
