Gold-Colored Gun Case: Woman Released on Bail

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo High Court ordered to release on bail Vishaka Irangani Weerakoon, the first suspect in the case involving the discovery of a gold-colored firearm at the Havelock City apartment complex in Wellawatte.

The order was issued by High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne, following a bail application submitted by President’s Counsel Anura Meddegoda, who appeared on behalf of the suspect.

The court granted bail under the conditions of a cash bail of Rs. 250,000 and two personal sureties of Rs. 2.5 million each. 

Earlier this week, former Minister Duminda Dissanayake, who was also remanded in connection with the same case, was released on bail.
