COLOMBO (News 1st); The National System Operator Ltd (NSO) has announced that rooftop solar systems with a capacity of 300 kilowatts and above will be temporarily disconnected starting from 3:00 p.m. today.
The move has been taken in anticipation of a significant drop in electricity demand across the national grid due to the upcoming long weekend holiday.
According to the statement, these high-capacity rooftop solar systems will remain disconnected until 3:00 p.m. on the 29th, as part of efforts to manage reduced power consumption during the holiday period.
The National System Operator stated that the decision was made to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the national electricity grid.
